Building Permits
Residents are reminded that a permit is required before any
construction work is done on a home. Check with Village Hall for
requirements and fee information (284-9423). Any work performed
prior to acquiring a permit will result in the fee tripling, per
village ordinance.
Refuse Pick Up

Ordinary refuse and trash is picked up once per week on
Thursdays. Your trash should be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on
collection day, but not earlier than 24 hours before pick up.
However, if there is a holiday during the week the trash will be
picked up on Friday. Trash shall be containerized in plastic bags
or standard 20-35 gallon metal cans or similar approved sturdy
containers. No trash can, bags or bundles shall weigh loaded more
than 55 pounds. Large item pick-up, such as
appliances or furniture, can be arranged by contacting the contracted
hauler before setting the item curbside for pick-up. Contact
info can be be obtained by calling Village Hall.
Yard
Waste Collection and Recycling

Wisconsin residents are not allowed to put yard waste
in with their ordinary household waste. Residents are encouraged to
compost, or take their bagged grass clippings and leaves to our
Public Works Building. The Village will chip small tree branches
(less than 3 inches in diameter) every Monday April through October. Residents are asked to place branches at
the curb on the weekend before the pick up. The Village of Saukville
requires all residents to recycle and offers curbside pick up of
recyclables every Thursday. These include glass containers,
aluminum and tin cans, newspaper, magazines, cardboard and certain
kinds of plastic. Contact Village Hall for a detailed list of
recyclable materials and how they should be prepared.

All lawns, yards, and property foliage located within the
Village must be kept free from the accumulation of all-unsightly
growth, foliage, and noxious weeds.

to store junked or discarded property, including automobiles,
automobile parts, trucks, tractors, refrigerators, furnaces, washing
machines, stoves, machinery or machinery parts, wood, bricks, cement
blocks or any other unsightly debris which substantially depreciates
property values in the neighborhood, except in an enclosure that
screens such property from public view or upon permit issued by the
Village Board.
Snow/Ice Removal &
Sidewalk Maintenance

The owner or occupants of any building, structure, or
unoccupied lot within the Village must keep the sidewalk running
along their lot free from snow and ice accumulation. The sidewalk
should be cleared by 10:00 a.m. of each day unless the snow
continues to fall during and after 10:00 a.m., then it shall be
removed within 24 hours of daylight after it has stopped snowing.

streets, alleys, or public highways in the Village of Saukville to
be licensed. The Police Department will issue non-expiring bicycle

The Village of Saukville allows three domestic pets per
household unless special arrangements
are provided to have additional pets. These pets are required to be
licensed by the Village. Licenses are valid for the
calendar year and must be renewed annually. The fee for a dog license is $8.00 for a
spayed/neutered dog and $10.00 for a dog not spayed/neutered. The
fee for a cat license is $5.00 for a spayed/neutered cat and $7.00
for a cat not spayed/neutered. After March 31 of each year an
additional $5.00 late fee will be charged to each license.

shown when purchasing pet licenses. Pets are not permitted to run at
large in the Village.
