Mobile Phone w/emergency alert test message

Emergency Alert System Test - Update

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system on October 3, 2018
The test messages will be sent using FEMA’s IPAWS, (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) which enables authorities to send emergency messages to multiple communications networks, including the EAS and WEA as part of the nation’s modern alert and warning infrastructure.
Sending the WEA test message will begin at 2:18 p.m. EDT. The EAS message will be sent at 2:20 p.m. EDT.  This will be the first nationwide Presidential-level WEA test and cannot be opted out.

Curbside Leaf Collection begins Oct. 1st - runs through Dec. 3rd.

 - Weather Permitting - No guaranteed or scheduled pick-up.
 - Leaf piles must be curbside with no brush or plant materials.
 - Keep vehicles off and away from leaf piles.
 - Keep piles at a manageable height for the vacuum truck to collect easily.


Lawn Maintenance

Chapter 151  of the Municipal Code provides for standards of property maintenance which prohibits unsightly growth and foliage of any nature.  Routine maintenance of lawns, yards, and property foliage is the responsibility of every property owner.  Please help keep Saukville beautiful; cut your lawns and maintain all property foliage on a regular basis.


Cross Connection Control Program

The Village's Cross Connection Control Inspection Program, managed by HydroCorp Inc. (HCI), is continuing in 2018.  HCI will continue to contact homeowners and businesses to arrange inspections.  There is no cost for these inspections.  Each inspection takes less than 20 minutes on average for a home and 45 minutes for a business.

I-43 Rehabilitation Project

The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region announces I-43 Rehabilitation Project lane closures and restrictions  in Ozaukee County. Drivers should be aware of reduced speed limits and remember to use caution while traveling through any work zone. This advisory does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Tadych Scholarship

The Marilyn and Paul Tadych Memorial Scholarship, established by the Tadychs to provide scholarships for parents of students in the Port Washington-Saukville School District, needs applicants to take advantage of this wonderful program.
Marilyn and Paul Tadych touched the lives of many children, Marilyn as an elementary school librarian, and Paul as an elementary school art teacher.  They believed strongly in the benefits of learning for individuals of all ages and they wished to leave the legacy of higher education to the parents and legal guardians of Port Washington-Saukville District students.

Part-time On-Call and Volunteer opportunities are available through the Village of Saukville Fire Dept. and Police Dept.  Please contact the respective department for complete info.

Fire Department
Part-time, paid, on-call positions are available for Fire-Fighters and EMTS.  Applications are available at Village Hall and on the Village website.  For more information, call the Fire Dept. at 262-284-5800 and leave a message.

Police Department
The Saukville Police Dept. is seeking dedicated, community minded individuals to become part of our volunteer Police Reserves team.  For more info, call the Police Dept. at 262-284-0444.
