Election Day Poll Location:  American Legion Post 470, 601 W. Dekora St. (Hwy 33)
Poll Hours:  7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
 
Note:  Registration is required for new residents, name changes, and address changes.  To avoid registration lines at the polls, please consider registering in advance at Village Hall.  Proof of residence is required when registering to vote.  Open registration ends Oct. 17th at 5:00 p.m.
 
PHOTO ID REQUIRED
Please be prepared with your Photo ID for all elections.  Election Inspectors are required to ask for voter Photo ID, along with a voter's signature in order to receive a ballot on election day.
 
A list of acceptable proof of residence and photo ID documents are listed on the Government Accountability Board's website at http://www.gab.wi.gov/elections-voting/photo-id .

Hydrant Flushing - Oct. 15 - Oct. 18 & Oct. 22 - Oct. 25

The Water Dept. will be flushing hydrants between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 15 - Oct.18 and Oct. 22 - Oct. 25.  There may be some discoloration in your water during this process.  This is iron and is not harmful.  Running your faucets for a short period of time after flushing is completed in your area should clear the lines.  We recommend that you do not do laundry if your water is discolored. 
 

Final Day of Curbside Branch Chipping - Mon., Oct. 29th

Curbside Leaf Collection Runs Through Dec. 3rd:

 - Weather Permitting - No guaranteed or scheduled pick-up.
 - Leaf piles must be curbside with no brush or plant materials.
 - Keep vehicles off and away from leaf piles.
 - Keep piles at a manageable height for the vacuum truck to collect easily.


Cross Connection Control Program

The Village's Cross Connection Control Inspection Program, managed by HydroCorp Inc. (HCI), is continuing in 2018.  HCI will continue to contact homeowners and businesses to arrange inspections.  There is no cost for these inspections.  Each inspection takes less than 20 minutes on average for a home and 45 minutes for a business.

Railway Crossing/Stop Sign - Sign

STH 33 Railroad Crossing - Saukville to be Rebuilt

Wisconsin Central Ltd/Canadian National Railroad(CN) is announcing plans to reconstruct the railroad crossing at STH 33 in the Village of Saukville the week of Oct. 29th. 
Beginning Monday, Oct. 29th at 8:00 a.m., the RR crossing on STH 33 (W. Dekora Street) in the Village, between Railroad Street and Tower Street, will be closed.  Driveways to local residents and businesses will not be effected.  The highway will be closed at the crossing only and a signed detour will be in effect.
STH 33 is expected to reopen by the end of the day Friday, Nov. 2nd.

Business Park Traffic Detour:  The Village is asking that STH 33 westbound traffic to the Dekora Woods Business Park be directed south on I-43 to STH 60, west to CTH I, north to STH 33.
All eastbound STH 33 traffic will be directed south on CTH I to STH 60, east to I-43, north to STH 33.

Storm Drain Stenciling

Get involved in a fun community-wide activity, storm drain stenciling!  This activity is a great way to get informed and engaged in simple clean up methods that can directly impact Milwaukee River health.
Friday, Oct. 19th  -  4:00-5:30 p.m.  -  Grady Park (near the playground)
RSVP not required, however, if you have a volunteer group that woul like to participate, please contact cbauer@riveredge.us .
Participants should wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that are okay to get messy.  Please bring your own drinking water.

I-43 Rehabilitation Project

The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region announces I-43 Rehabilitation Project lane closures and restrictions  in Ozaukee County. Drivers should be aware of reduced speed limits and remember to use caution while traveling through any work zone. This advisory does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Part-time On-Call and Volunteer opportunities are available through the Village of Saukville Fire Dept. and Police Dept.  Please contact the respective department for complete info.

Fire Department
Part-time, paid, on-call positions are available for Fire-Fighters and EMTS.  Applications are available at Village Hall and on the Village website.  For more information, call the Fire Dept. at 262-284-5800 and leave a message.
